The cornerstone of Barton's fund raising, the Annual Fund supports our budget, strengthens our programs, and helps to bridge the gap between the rising costs of educating students and the income from tuition and endowment. Barton's endowment is restricted to generating income for endowed scholarships, professorships, and programs. This means that the Annual Fund provides the unrestricted funds that support our budget, deliver financial assistance and support services to students, maintain our buildings and grounds, and pay for technological improvements as well as library and computing enhancements.

Contributors to the Annual Fund include alumni, parents, faculty, staff, friends, businesses and corporations. Your tax-deductible donation will enhance the educational experience for our students.

When is the best time to make a gift?
Our fiscal year begins July 1 and ends June 30. The best time to make a commitment is early in the year, when it is needed most.

How much should I pledge?
You should pledge whatever amount is comfortable for you. Our goal is to receive gifts from everyone who has benefited directly or indirectly from their experience at Atlantic Christian College or Barton College. With this level of support, we will readily satisfy our immediate annual needs and make our future more secure.

Do I have to pay my pledge all at once?
No. You can pay your pledge in full or pay in installments throughout the year. Let the Associate Director of Development know which is most convenient for you. It is extremely important, however, that you fulfill your pledge within the fiscal year that it was made.

Can I pay a pledge with a credit card?
Yes. If you would like to make a contribution with VISA or MASTERCARD, simply call our Associate Director of Development.

How do I know if my employer will match my gift?
To find out if your employer has such a gift-matching policy, call your personnel office. You can also call our Associate Director of Development for a list of companies that are currently matching gifts to Barton.
